Ireland Michael Conlan will meet a 30 year US boxer with a near identical record in professional boxing in his next contest scheduled for Friday, September 22 in Tucson Convention Centre in Arizona.

Since turning pro in 2016, Kenny Guzman – a native of Montana – has won his three professional contests, one within the distance.

Former world amateur champion, Michael Conlan has triumphed in his three professional fights within the distance since his debut on St Patrick’s Day in Madison Square Garden.

In his most recent contest in April, Guzman scored a points’ win in a four round contest against a Canadian fighter in Calgary.

In his last fight Conlan, boxing on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight in Bribane, secured a third round stoppage win over Australian Jarrett Owen.

Since then Conlan has indicated that he will fight exclusively in the featherweight division from now on.

His September 22 fight which will be televised live in the US is on the undercard of Oscar Valdez’s defence of his WBO featherweight title against Genesis Servania.
