Katie Taylor moves one win away from the Olympics after dominant world championship display
Katie Taylor is just one win away from Olympic qualification after a dominant win at the women's world championships.
The Bray boxer beat Argentina's Dayana Sanchez on all three judges cards, taking every round in the process, as she recorded her second victory in Astana, adding to Saturday's win.
Taylor dominated throughout, regularly landing damaging combinations that flustered her opponent. The trademark speed was on show too, with the Olympic champion relentlessly pummelling the Argentine.
After getting her nose bloodied in her world championship opener, Taylor's defence was far tighter today, as she allowed no punishing shots throughout the four round fight.
The victory leaves her needing just one more win at the world championship's to book her place at the Rio games this summer, where she would have a chance to defend her Olympic crown.
