Katie: I'm in the form of my life
Katie Taylor says she feels like she's in the best form of her career ahead of her WBA and IBF world title defence tomorrow.
Bray native Taylor takes on American Kimberly Connor on the Dillian Whyte-Joseph Parker bill in London's O2 Arena and the former Olympic gold medallist is relishing the challenge.
"I can't wait," Taylor said yesterday.
"This again is a great opportunity for me and I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life, the best form of my life.
"I know that Kimberley comes in as a hungry challenger. She's going to bring her best and that's going to bring the best out of me as well. I can't wait for it."
Connor was complimentary of her Irish opponent but is hoping to capitalise on her status as the underdog.
"She's accomplished a lot in women's boxing," said 37-year-old Connor of Taylor.
"I have a lot of respect for her. I look forward to fighting her. I feel like this is the boxer's dream - I'm the absolute underdog in this situation."
