'I don't know who the f**k you are' - Conor McGregor takes aim at two-time NBA champion Draymond Green
UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor has responded to two-time NBA champion Draymond Green after the Olympic gold medalist posted a picture of McGregor wearing a #23 Golden State Warriors jersey on his Instagram account.
Green, who has worn the #23 jersey with the Warriors since he was drafted by the franchise in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft, took exception with McGregor wearing a Warriors jersey with his current number ahead of the Dubliner's fight with undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. next month.
Green posted a picture of McGregor wearing the jersey on his Instagram account captioned: "We rocking with Floyd bro not you... take that off bruh @thenotoriousmma."
McGregor responded to Green's comment and claimed that it was not Green's jersey he was wearing but rather C. J Watson's, who wore the number 23 when he played for the Warriors between 2008 and 2010.
Watson is currently an NBA Free Agent, but in 2010, it was understood that he had an intimate relationship with Josie Harris, the mother of three of Mayweather’s children.
In December 2011, Mayweather pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery domestic violence and no contest to two counts of harassment for hitting Harris, in which he was sentenced to 90 days in jail.
In January, McGregor tweeted an animated image of him standing over a downed Mayweather captioned: "Call me C.J Watson."
McGregor responded to Green by correcting him and advising him to stay in school.
"That's C.J Watson mate. I don't know who the f**k you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school."
Which was followed by: "Now ask yourself why I'm rocking C.J when I don't know or give a f**k about basketball. I dribble heads off the floor. Not a ball. This is no game here kid."
McGregor will fight Mayweather Jr. at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26th.
