Conor McGregor's money spinning bout with Floyd Mayweather made an incredible $600m (€510m) in revenue but fell just 300,000 viewers short of the record.

Before the much-hyped clash in Las Vegas last August, Dubliner McGregor fervently proclaimed that the 'Money Fight' would eclipse the record set by Mayweather's duel with Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

Showtime have confirmed 4.3million paid for the fight in North America - 300k short of the 4.6million the Pacquiao fight attracted. However, the fight did break pay-per-view records in Britain.

The total global revenue from the fight, including sponsorship deals and ticket sales, was $600m (€510m).
