Carl Frampton to fight for interim world title when he faces Nonito Donaire in Belfast
The WBO interim featherweight world title will be the prize when Carl Frampton faces Nonito Donaire in Belfast next month.
The news was announced this morning that the fight at SSE Arena on April 21 would now carry a lot more significance.
"A huge night of boxing just got even bigger," said former two-weight world champion Frampton.
"It's great news and it adds a whole lot more razzmatazz to the event."
The 35-year-old Filipino has held seven world titles in a career that has lasted 17 years and is expected to provide Frampton with a very difficult assignment.
