Carl Frampton confirms new trainer following split with the McGuigans
Carl Frampton has confirmed the identity of his new trainer after parting ways with Shane McGuigan.
The 30 year-old former World champion will now join up with Jamie Moore. "Great to have linked up with my new trainer @JamieMoore777. The start of a new chapter in my career," tweeted Carl.
So just who is the new man in Frampton's corner? We've had a look at his CV (or at least mocked up our own version).
Who is Jamie Moore?
Name: Jamie Moore
Titles: As a boxer himself, Moore is a former European light middleweight champion, a two-former British light middleweight champion and a former Commonwealth light middleweight champion.
Boxing Record: 32-5-0 (32 wins, 5 defeats, 0 draws)
Training history: Moore, who also works as a Sky pundit, trains Hull's super-lightweight Tommy Coyle who faces Belfast's Tyrone McKenna on the undercard of Ryan Burnett's world title show on October 21 at Belfast's SSE Arena.
Is this a surprise?
In short - not really. Moore had already tweeted to say: "A couple of good days working with the champ," in relation to Frampton, but the link-up just hadn't been confirmed by Carl himself.
What about a new promoter?
We're not really any the wiser on that front yet. Eddie Hearn remains vocal in his desire to sign the Jackal, while American advisor Al Haymon is also in the running along with Frank Warren.
"He's a box office star - I can offer him Windsor Park fights, Leo Santa Cruz in Belfast," said Hearn.
"I don't know if he likes me but we don't have to be friends. I can give him big fights and buckets loads of money as well."
