Boxing: Jonas rematch on cards for triumphant Taylor
Katie Taylor could meet Natasha Jonas in a repeat of their London 2012 quarter-finals in the United Arab Emirates early in the new year.
Taylor's coach and dad Pete Taylor is lining up two fights for the Olympic champion in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for the end of January.
Taylor Snr said that he was 95pc sure the fights would go ahead and that Liverpool southpaw Jonas is being lined up as an opponent for Dubai.
"The fights in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will take us right up to the weigh-in for the Irish Elite Championships, said Taylor Snr. "We hope to get Natasha for one of the fights, but either way Katie will have two. She'll have a break for a week or so now.
"She got an elbow in the face in the last round in Bray last night and she has bruising on her jaw. Fair play to Mira, she really came to fight."
Taylor posted the 140th victory of her career to complete a weekend double. The Olympic champion beat Finland's Mira Potkonen on a unanimous decision at a sold-out Ballywaltrim Community Centre.
Saturday's victory on the 'Road to Rio' headliner arrived 24 hours after she beat Paris-born Canadian international Caroline Veyre at Dublin's Mansion House.
"Next year will be a big year for me," Taylor said. "The European and World Championships are my focus now and the fights I had this weekend are part of my preparations for those tournaments."
Meanwhile, the Irish women's team will meet Poland on a St Brigid's BC-hosted international at the Hamlet Court Hotel in Kildare next Sunday.
Forty-eight hours earlier, a Belfast international select goes head-to-head with Poland, who have three AIBA Elite boxers in their squad, in Belfast.
