WEXFORD boxer Adam Nolan has qualified for the London Olympics.

The Bray-based Garda beat Romanian Ionut Gheorghe 19-10 in the 69kg welterweight semi-finals at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Trabzon, Turkey.



Nolan won every round on a score of 7/5 8/3 4/2. He was never in any danger.



He now goes on to contest the tournament's final, but with his Olympic place guaranteed..



Paddy Barnes is due to fight Ferhat Pehlivan later today, but he has already secured his London place.



And at 7pm, Tommy McCarthy will need to win his semi-final to nail down an Olympic team place this summer.
