Double-amputee Oscar Pistorius, who helped South Africa reach the final of the 4x400 metres relay at the World Championships, has not been selected for tonight's race.
The 24-year-old, who ran the first leg of Thursday's heats as South Africa recorded a national record of two minutes 59.21 seconds, wrote on Twitter: "Haven't Been included in the Final for the SA Mens 4x400m. Pretty Guttered (sic)."
He later added: "Thats me for the World Champs! Gods blessed me! Semifinals in the 400m and a National Record in the 4x400m semi! Thank u all!"
Pistorius, who reached the semi-finals of the individual event in Daegu, would still be eligible to receive a medal if the South African quartet win one this evening.
