The GOAL Mile took place at over 130 locations around Ireland today as tens of thousands of runners got into the Christmas spirit raising money for charity.

First held in 1982, the event sees tens of thousands of people run, jog or walk a mile to raise funds and awareness for GOAL. One of the country's most popular annual events, GOAL Mile is a Christmas tradition for thousands of families.

In Eamonn Ceannt Park, in Sundrive, Dublin 12, almost 1000 people came out on a beautiful, crisp sunny morning - with three and four generations of families, owners and their pets and runners of all ages taking part.
