Fionnuala McCormack will make her marathon comeback in Boston in April, when the 34-year-old will run the 26.2-mile distance for the first time since the Rio Olympics in 2016.

McCormack took time out from her career to start a family in 2018, giving birth in September, and she made her competitive return last month in Belfast, finishing sixth at the Northern Ireland International Cross Country. This will be McCormack's first time racing the Boston Marathon, which is one of the six World Marathon Majors. McCormack's marathon best is the 2:31:22 she ran to finish 20th at the Olympics in Rio.
