It was an incredible weekend of racing with career defining performances on both sides of the Irish Sea.

On Friday, Ardnasool Jet confirmed his standing as Ireland's best sprinter when lowering his own track record for 350 yards at Shelbourne clocking an unbelievable 18.33 in the Islandbridge Sprint final.

Meanwhile, across the water the Irish were in devastating form as they recorded 14 wins in the opening round of the English Derby.

Cesarewitch Skywalker Logan recorded a devastating victory on Saturday, smashing the record in the process and is now heading the betting for the British show-piece.

At Shelbourne Park, Ballymac Arminta went close to breaking the track record when racing to a brilliant victory in the second semi-final of the Sporting Press Irish Oaks. Posting a scarcely believable 27.70, she is now responsible for the second-fastest time ever posted in Ireland for 525 yards.

No Recollection, who is partly owned by three-time Grand National winning trainer Gordon Elliott, displayed real pace and determination to better Clona Dream by half a length in 28.31 in the other heat.

Rockybay Foley and Spoofer continued their impressive run of form through the Drive On Tipp Open 525 at Cork on Saturday. Spoofer set the standard with a stunning 27.96 return, while Rockybay Foley overcame a nightmare draw to score 28.40.
