Andy Murray has defended his fiance Kim Sears after she was caught on camera shouting a foul-mouthed tirade at the Scotsman's opponent Tomas Berdych.
Murray cruised to victory over his Czech rival to reach the Australian Open final but Sears has been labelled a 'pottymouth' after her outburst, as lipreaders guess what she was really saying.
Ms Sears, who has supported Murray in matches all around the world, appeared to be deeply invested in the match as she muttered her encouragement.
Amused viewers speculated about what she was saying, with guesses ranging from 'some grown-up langauge' to a 'filthy tirade'.
One Twitter user, who watched Ms Sears in the crowd, said: "Now I'm no lip reader, but I think Kim Sears may be using some adult language here! Her fiancé Andy Murray has just broken Tomas Berdych to lead the third set, having split the first two."
Asked about the incident, Murray said: "I was told about that. When there’s a lot of tension surrounding something which you (the media) created, then it’s completely normal that the whole first set everyone was tight.
"My physical trainer, the physio, I’m sure for Dani it was uncomfortable, even Tomas, who very rarely says anything on the court. There was tension there for him as well. In the heat of the moment you say stuff that you regret."
