Jose Mourinho has skillfully avoided questions on Chelsea's possible pursuit of Manchester United striker at a press conference in the Far East this morning.

There is mounting specualtion that Chelsea, who are in the market for a striker, will make a bold bid to sign the England international or engage in a bidding war with Tottenham over Aston Villa frontman Christian Benteke.

"Until August 31 we will see if we can improve the squad but my focus is to improve these guys(his current squad)," Mourinho said.

"After a week I am still happy because my boys have been fantastic."

Mourinho said that the big clubs will always be linked to the big players.

Mourinho offered public praise for Rooney on Chelsea's arrival in Bangkok on Friday and, after training in the Thai capital last night, Hazard delivered his enthusiastic endorsement.

"We've heard all the names – it's exciting," he said. "Rooney would be a brilliant signing. He's a great player who has the experience, and he's still only young, at 27.

"It's always a pleasure to play with great players, and Chelsea sign great players."

The Chelsea boss went on to say that he would be making no priorities trophy-wise and that all competitions held equal value.

Mourinho will take charge of game since returning to the London club when they face the Singha All-Stars tomorrow in Bangkok and he confirmed that he wil play two completely different teams in either half
