Watch: Conor McGregor hard at work in SBG gym ahead of UFC 197
With UFC 197 just over five weeks away, Conor McGregor is looking exceedingly sharp as he prepares to dethrone lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
After his most recent unforgettable press event in Las Vegas, McGregor has returned to Ireland and, indeed, the grindstone.
With Dos Anjos not only predicating that he will send McGregor scuttling back to the featherweight division but also teach him a stern lesson for his cock-sure hubris, the Dubliner has, once more, poked a Brazilian bear.
Though for all his bombast, the featherweight champion is as diligent a trainer as any in the sport. In a video posted on Twitter by coach John Kavanagh, McGregor can be seen honing his considerable hand speed and power with striking guru Owen Roddy.
On March 5 in the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, the 'Notorious’ and Dos Anjos will headline UFC 197, which also features a championship bout between bantamweight queen Holly Holm and Miesha Tate.
If McGregor usurps his South American foe, he will become the first man in UFC history to simultaneously hold two titles.
