Video: Irish MMA fan condemned former Conor McGregor foe Chad Mendes to another defeat Newsdesk Newsdesk

UFC featherweight fighter Chad Mendes looks like he would be some craic on a night out.

The Californian, who stepped in for Jose Aldo at UFC 189 and was defeated by Conor McGregor, partied with a number of Irish Mixed Martial Arts fans in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Mendes was blown away by the Irish after he was beaten by McGregor in July, saying: "What's awesome is this, these Irish guys are crazy. I wish we had support like that for everyone here, it's unbelievable the support you show for your athletes and I got to come in here and be apart of it.

"This is something that I'm never going to forget in my life."

Mendes, who was beaten by Frankie Edgar on Friday night, met up with Dubliner Ian Doody and a number of his pals after the McGregor fight and got them into the VIP section of Surrender Nightclub .

As they partied one of the Irish guys and Mendes ended up in an arm wrestle.

The Irishman won, but his tactics and Mendes' interest look a little suspect.

"He was an absolute gent," Doody told
