Conor McGregor took time out from his strenuous preparations for his UFC featherweight title fight with Jose Aldo in Las Vegas to thanks an amazing 64-year-old from Carlow for his unique message of support.

Willie O'Toole from Rathvilly in Carlow recently saw The Notorious pulling off some difficult 'muscle up' routine on a beach in Brazil and decided to send a video message to the Dubliner before taking on the feat himself.

McGregor was so taken by Willie's exploits that he sent returned a message all the way from Nevada to thank him for support.

"I still need work to get to your level brother but I will keep practicing," he told the Carlow man.
