Ireland's Cathal 'The Punisher' Pendred made it four wins from four after a unanimous points victory over Augusto “Dodger” Montano at UFC 188 in Mexico City.
endred's opponent lived up to his nickname with the Irishman raising his arms in frustration in the first round in an attempt to get his opponent to engage him.
Montano was warned at the end of the first round that he would be docked a point for timidity if things didn't improve.
Pendred was dropped momentarily by a right hook at the start of the second but recovered to force a takedown and an unsuccessful unorthodox neck tie
The third round was uneventful as both fighters tired noticeably and boos rang out from the Mexican crowd.
In the end Pendred won 29-28 on all the judges scorecards for a unanimous victory.
"I was expecting a much better fight, better from myself and better from my opponent.
"Bitterly disappointed, I put a lot of emphasis on this camp and I really wanted to announce myself on the upper echelons of the welterweight division going 4-0.
"I tried to stalk him but I found it very difficult. It was very frustrating.
"At one stage, I nearly felt like telling the referee to stop the fight because I just couldn't get it going."
