With just over six weeks to go, the hype-machine is slowly clicking into gear ahead of the eagerly anticipated featherweight title unification bout between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo at UFC 194.

In the months leading up to the pair’s ultimately scrapped bout that was scheduled for UFC 189, the promotion invested untold amounts of money into an unprecedented world media tour and TV promotional campaign.

However, Aldo’s rib-injury two weeks out from the showdown rendered most of the expenditure futile. And, although McGregor believes his rival will be a no-show once again, the UFC appear a little more optimistic.

In the two 10 second videos below, titled A Nation Awaits,  the camera pans up to reveal McGregor’s tattoo festooned torso as he drapes himself in a tricolour, though that famous beard  only briefly appears. Aldo receives a similar treatment.

They’re short and possibly cheesy, but the accompanying audio of the Irish and Brazilian ultras in full-voice is a sharp reminder of what’s to come on December 12.
