SBG's James Gallagher ruled out of Bellator Dublin main event

SBG featherweight James Gallagher has been ruled out of the Bellator 187 main event after picking up a knee injury in training.

The Strabane native was scheduled to fight Jeremiah Labiano on the card's main event in the 3 Arena, Dublin on 10 November, but will now be replaced by teammate Brian Moore after tearing both his LCL and PCL.

Gallagher took to Instagram to share his disappointment.

“Absolutely heartbroken to have to pull out from my fight Nov 10th due to a knee injury,” the 20-year-old wrote on his Instagram account Wednesday night.

“I’ve tore the LCL and PCL. I’m going to let it heal up and recover 100% and I’ll be back stronger than ever! Hopefully we can get the “jimmy show” back in the new year!”

Moore will now face undefeated American AJ Mckee in the main event after he picked up his first win in Bellator back in April, a second-round TKO of Michal Horejsi.
