UFC fighter Max Holloway said that he 'would love' to fight Conor McGregor in the future.

The Hawaiian fighter was speaking after defeating Charles Oliveira on Sunday, his seventh consecutive win.

Holloway said that he would have fought McGregor last month if he had been asked to. But that Chad Mendes got the call instead.

“I'd fight him any day of the week,” said Holloway of McGregor.

“Now that I don’t have a fight I can say how I feel. UFC could have called me for the last one and I would [have taken] him.

"They didn’t, they chose Chad - but I would love to fight him,” he said.

McGregor fought Holloway before two years ago. Despite picking up a knee injury early on, the Dublin-native managed to beat him on a decision.

Holloway is the fighter to have gone the distance with McGregor.

"You want to talk money?" said Holloway, referring to McGregor's nickname.

"Holloway versus McGregor, you got money with the number two in that fight."

Conor McGregor is currently the UFC interim featherweight champion. He will face José Aldo on December 12 in a title unification bout to decide who keeps the title.
