'He looks like a blew-out balloon' - Nurmagomedov's manager questions Conor McGregor's new physique ahead of return
Khabib Nurmagomedov's manager has branded Conor McGregor and his team 'liars' and questioned the Notorious' new physique ahead of his UFC comeback later this month.
McGregor will step into the Octagon for the first time since his defeat to Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018 when he faces Donald Cerrone on January 18.
Nurmagomedov comfortably defeated McGregor thanks to a fourth-round submission 15 months ago. The build-up to that fight was dominated by an intense rivalry that saw McGregor land himself in hot water for attacking the Nurmagomedov team bus while there was a post-fight brawl inside and outside the Octagon.
McGregor insists that he will see off Cerrone and set up a rematch with Nurmagomedov but Abdelaziz says it's all talk and UFC chief Dana White is leading the chorus to keep one of his most profitable assets relevant.
"Dana's the greatest promoter in history. I respect the man very, very much," Abdelaziz told TMZ.
"He has to make people care about Conor. And by mentioning Khabib's name, he is making Conor more relevant.
"And it's okay. He promote, he can do whatever. Khabib has a plan, Dana has a plan, sometimes we'll get upset, sometimes we'll agree.
"But business moves on. Conor's not on our radar. He might lose to 'Cowboy' as far as I understand. I think he might lose."
Abdelaziz also took a pop at the McGregor camp, calling them 'liars' while questioning the Notorious' new physique.
"Listen, his coaches before the [Khabib] fight said: 'He's ready, he's gonna knock Khabib out inside three rounds, he's never been in better shape'," added Abdelaziz.
"And after that, they said: they had a horrible camp, his foot was like a balloon. They're liars."
John Kavanagh says McGregor is in the best shape of his life right now but Abdelaziz disagrees.
"He looks like a blew-out balloon. He's a bodybuilder. That's what I think. He's getting no love from us."
