'Dumbest s**t I ever heard' - Dana White rubbishes claim of modified rules Mayweather-McGregor rematch
UFC president Dana White has rubbished reports that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are set for a rematch.
Dubai based journalist Omar Al Raisi posted a series of tweets on Tuesday afternoon claiming the pair were due to square off in the Octagon with modified rules and White was unequivocal in his dismissal of such claims.
“None of that is even close to true,” he tweeted. “Dumbest s**t I have ever heard.”
The reportedly agreed-upon changed regulations detailed by Al Raisi forbid kicking, kneeing, elbowing, takedowns and require the fighters to compete barefoot.
According to Forbes, the UFC had drawn up a fresh contract for McGregor and were preparing to announce the rematch before last Thursday’s incident in New York but any further ‘MayMac’ rumours are now likely to have been quashed by White’s comments.
