UFC star's Conor McGregor's track record at speaking things into MMA reality is second to none.

In his brief UFC career, his achievements have been many.

He is undefeated in six fights and claimed the interim featherweight title last July at UFC 189. Though he still has the considerable task of a featherweight title unification fight with Jose Aldo in December at UFC 192, it would be a brave man to bet against McGregor at this stage.

The Dubliner has become obsessed with the numbers associated with his MMA and UFC career. When he was coming up the only numbers that mattered were wins and losses. While he’s still focused on the win column he also obsesses about the gate receipts, the Pay Per View buys, the endorsement deals and ultimately the bottom line of how much he gets paid for generating these numbers.

In the midst of the interview, McGregor happily discussed the topic of a new UFC contract . A few weeks back €100m was being bounced around by the biggest name in the MMA game as the latest number in his crosshairs.

Exactly what this would cover and who will be stumping up the cash remains to be seen.

While discussing the subject of the mega-deal deal, the outspoken fighter confirmed: “We’re right there. I believe Lorenzo [Fertitta, UFC owner] and Dana [White, UFC President] will be in town this weekend and we’ll do what we always do and that’s toast big business. I’d imagine an announcement will come soon.”

McGregor will be at the event on Saturday and though he may not be competing in the Octagon he will still be the biggest deal on the night.

Conor McGregor was speaking at Life Style Sports on Grafton Street with thanks to Reebok. The official Reebok UFC range is available at the Life Style Sports Grafton Street or Mary Street stores.
