Sky win rights to show Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather and it's available at a reasonable price
Sky have won the rights to show the Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather fight and it will be available to viewers in Ireland at a reasonable price.
The money-spinning event will be broadcast by Showtime in the States and will cost fight fans there $89.99 to watch in standard definition and $99.99 for HD.
Earlier this week, Eddie Hearn told GQ that Mayweather wanted to charge pay-per-view customers in the UK a cool £100.
But Sky have confirmed that the T-Mobile showdown on August 26 will be available for €24.95 ($19.95 in the UK) on Sky Sports Box Office for Irish customers after the broadcaster saw off competition from BT Sport.
That price is available right up until the fight on August 26 if booking via remote control or online but will increase to €29.95 (£24.95 in the UK) for bookings made over the phone at midnight on August 25.
"Sky Sports Box Office will show the hugely anticipated ‘mega-fight’ between undefeated former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather and current UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor," read a statement from Sky.
"The fight – the first time the two worlds of professional boxing and UFC will collide - will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 26 August and will be available to Sky customers on Sky Sports Box Office for €24.95."
