A former opponent of Roy Keane has shared the moment he was punched in the head by the Corkman to criticise the current state of football.

Former Middlesbrough striker Jan Aage Fjortoft took to Twitter yesterday to share a memory of when he was hot by the Republic of Ireland assistant boss during a Premier League game in October 1995.

Fjortoft was praised on social media for not rolling around on the floor to get the Irishman dismissed and replied to one Twitter user by writing: "and in the week Boro and myself wrote a letter to the FA to reduce his suspension..."

It would be rare to see anything like that nowadays.
