Watch: Irish fans at the Aviva Stadium took full of advantage of Good Friday alcohol loophole

The Aviva Stadium was one of the few places in the country permitted to serve alcohol last night and some fans took full advantage of that loophole as they celebrated Ireland’s win over Switzerland.

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill had ventured during the week that ticket sales for yesterday’s friendly may have been bolstered by the fact that those in attendance could treat themselves to a ‘cheeky pint’ on Good Friday.

It’s a far from fanciful thought and, judging by this video featuring some vociferous green ultras, significantly more than one drink was consumed. Be warned, there is plenty of colourful language.

Special thanks to Christopher Ball for the video.
