WATCH - Chilean doctors stop to watch Portugal v Chile penalty shootout during the middle of an operation

Four Chilean hospital staff took a quick break from surgery on Wednesday to watch Chile's Confederations Cup semi-final penalties win over Portugal.

The Euro 2016 winners failed to score a single penalty with Ricardo Quaresma, João Moutinho and Luis Nani all missing penalties while Chile went three from three with Arturo Vidal, Charles Aránguiz and Alexis Sánchez all converting from the spot.

The win puts Chile through to the Confederations Cup final against Germany on Sunday after Joachim Löw's side thrashed Mexico 4-1 on Friday in the other semi-final.

Chile, who have won the Copa América in both 2015 and 2016, are enjoying one of their most successful periods in the country's football history and it seems that not even surgery can dent their fans interest.
