Video: Stephanie Roche's goal is recreated by lego men

Puskas award nominees get alternative look at heir strikes

Stephanie Roche will find out next Monday if her spectacular strike against Wexford Youths last year will be voted the best goal of 2014.

For now, she can sit back and watch the her goal, along with that of James Rodriguez and Robin van Persie, over and over again - lego style.

The Guardian have created this little gem featuring Roche, Van Persie and Rodriguez as lego men in a packed stadium scoring their wonder goals.

The 25-year-old from Shankill has boosted the profile of women's football both in Ireland and abroad by becoming the first woman to reach the final three contenders for the best goal in world football.

While her rivals for the gong at the glitzy Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday are to be flown into the Swiss capital on private jets, club commitments for French outfit ASPTT Albi mean Roche must undertake a nine-hour car trip deep into the night.
