Video: "Go and shave it off" - David Beckham reveals clash with Alex Ferguson over his hair
David Beckham has revealed just how strict Alex Ferguson was during his playing days with Manchester United.
The former United number 7 told Graham Norton on BBC last night, that the Scot made him shave off his famous mohican hairstyle an hour before a game.
Becks revealed that he initially refused but eventually agreed when Ferguson's demeanour began to change.
"I was asked to shave it off when I first did it.
"I was sat in the changing room and I had a hat on at the time because Sir Alex Ferguson hadn't seen it.
"When I took my hat off, we had an hour before the kick-off and he said 'go and shave it off.
"I said 'no' at first, and I saw his face change very quickly so I went and shaved it off in the toilet.
"He wanted all the players to be professional and he felt it wasn't the right look and we were playing at Wembley, so he kinda had a point."
