Members of the Canyon Farms Golf Club in Lenaxa, Kansas encountered something of an obstacle when they turned up to play a round this week.
A huge area of land on the 13th fairway had completely vanished, leaving behind a giant sinkhole.
The large chasm is thought to have been caused by heavy rains, and the area has been fenced off for safety reasons until repairs can be carried out.
Doug North, a member of the club, told local Kansas station KCTV5 that the hole might prove something of an asset rather than a hindrance for some golfers.
"Well, I think we finally found a hole big enough where I can finally make a putt maybe," he joked.
