Nicklas Bendtner has hit back at the critics who "write shi*" about him and pledged his future to Wolfsburg.

Bendtner joined the Bundesliga side from Arsenal last summer, but was dropped from the first team last month after turning up to training late and this week rumours of his future intensified after the much-maligned striker missed the club's '18th Away Game' – a day where the club's playing staff visit their Supporters Groups to thank them for their backing throughout the season through illness.

Certain reports in Germany seemed to indicate that there was a bust-up between the player and the club and that the Danish international missed the event for other reasons.

Today Bendtner re-affirmed his commitment to Wolfsburg on an Instagram post.

"Let me make a few things clear!  First: I would NEVER disappoint the fans. I am happy to drive around to anyone who would have me. Unfortunately I was sick. Second: I am a Wolfsburg player, and proud to be so. It's been a great season and it's been amazing to be a part of. Anyone who wants to write shit about me, and try to put me down, go ahead. This tiger will fight till the end."
