When the legends of sport and music collide... now this is what happens when you don't fly economy class.

'The Notorious' Conor McGregor was returning from his world-class win in Las Vegas this afternoon when he bumped into none other than U2's The Edge.

The new UFC featherweight champion flew home in time for Christmas with his family and friends as the celebrations continue after his win.

McGregor spotted music star The Edge on the runway at Dublin Airport.

The Edge won approval earlier in the month to build five hilltop homes in the California celebrity enclave of Malibu, approximately 300 miles south of Vegas.

The Edge, whose real name is David Evans, and his team bought the property in 2005 and since then he has pursued regulatory approval from the California Coastal Commission to be able to eventually build on the site and live there.

"Flying home for Christmas and bump into @U2's 'The Edge' #ItsABeautifulDay," McGregor tweeted alongside the snap of the pair.

The tweet has since been liked and shared thousands of times.

And the champion has even more to look forward to as he is set to move into a new luxury €2m home.

The mixed martial arts star had been staying with his parents in their home in Lucan up until recently during his trips to Ireland, but will now splash the cash on the Ladycastle estate on the grounds of the K Club in Co. Kildare.

McGregor is looking forward to moving into the luxurious mansion along with girlfriend Dee Devlin.

‘The Notorious’ can expect to increase his earnings significantly over the next 12 months following his latest stunning success in Las Vegas where he defeated Jose Aldo.
