The Welsh club have had to deal with rumours after a slump in form.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has come under huge media strain in the last few weeks after a poor run of form saw the club drop from fourth to 14th.

After an explosive start to the season, which saw Swansea draw at Stamford Bridge and beat Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United in August, the Swans have taken just two points from their subsequent five games and have lost to newly-promoted Watford.

With rumours circulating that manager Monk was set to lose his job, the media began to speculate that Monk was missing from this morning’s training session at Swansea’s training complex.

However, the club responded brilliantly with a cheeky tweet aimed at those circulating the rumours, which contained a photo of Monk taking training this morning with the caption – “Garry Monk lookalike spotted in Swansea!”

The 2013 League Cup winners play Aston Villa on Saturday, with both clubs looking to break recent slumps in form.
