Yesterday Paul McShane celebrated his birthday and given the recent confusion over his age, his Hull City team-mates were keen to mark the occasion.

The Republic of Ireland international turned 29, which will most likely come as a surprise to BBC commentator Jonathan Perace.

During the Tigers 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in the FA Cup last weekend, Pearce informed viewers that the defender was 36 years of age.

That mistake was quickly picked up on social media and it seems the error was not lost on his team-mates.

McShane posted a picture from training today with the message: "I was greeted by this as I walked into the changing room this morning, shower of bastards!"
