Shamrock Rovers come up with brilliant stunt poking fun at senators refused All Ireland tickets

Harry Clarke

Shamrock Rovers have are offering free tickets to TDs, senators and the President for this weekend's clash with Galway United in Tallaght Stadium.

The move comes after two senators - Michelle Mulherin and Catherine Noone - went public last week venting their anger after being refused golden tickets for the All Ireland final between Dublin and Mayo.

Despite the fact that thousands of diehard GAA fans cannot get their hands on tickets for the showpiece event, Catherine Noone sparked outrage after it emerged she wrote to GAA Ard Stiúrthóir Páraic Duffy to express her anger after being refused tickets.

Her colleague Michelle Mulherin sent a similar letter, claiming the fact that TDs are provided with tickets - but not senators - represents "defamation".

Both politicians were subjected to a backlash on social media as a result of them making their views publicly known.

Now Shamrock Rovers have offered tickets to all senators for this clash with Galway. The Tallaght club released a poster on their Twitter feed earlier today.
