Sean St Ledger dodges 'item' question but expects Taylor Swift to come and see him play in US
Former Ireland international Sean St Ledger set tongues wagging in January when he tweeted a picture of himself and pop sensation Taylor Swift on New Year's Eve.
The 30-year-old, who signed for Major League Soccer newcomers Orlando City las month, was happy to answer questions on the subject on Soccer Republic on RTE last night.
"She's not been to a game as of yet. I'm thinking that she might come to one of the New York ones but we'll see," he said.
RTE soccer correspondent Tony O'Donoghue asked St Ledger whether they were an item or not and he said: "That would be an exclusive for RTE wouldn't it!
"I'm sitting on the fence just like you Tony."
St Ledger, who is playing alongside Brazilian Kaka at Orlando, has not featured for the Republic of Ireland for quite some time but was watching the Poland encounter and believes Shane Long's injury time equaliser could be crucial.
"If you're a neutral it's probably a great group to watch but it's one of the toughest groups out of all of them," he added.
"To get the point could be very, very important. The Aviva looked like it was rocking when we got the goal."
