Raheem Sterling has taken a fair bit of abuse during his short time as a professional footballer.

There were plenty of fans, Liverpool and neutral, who were unimpressed with the way he forced his way out of Anfield last season for the riches of Manchester City.

There was a small minority who continue to post vile racist abuse aimed at him on social media.

While there can be no defence for that, Sterling should take the abuse he got in the 0-0 draw with Leicester City on Tuesday night in good jest.

The forward came out sporting a new look hairstyle we hadn't seen before.

Dreadlocks held back with a thick headband - he got a lot of stick on social media.

It didn't stop there, however.

Sterling then invited more stick after coming out for the second half without his band - leaving his dreads to fall around his face a bit like a mop.
