Padraig Harrington: People try to shake my hands in public toilets without washing their hands
Irish golfer Padraig Harrington admits that he is unnerved when people with poor hygiene try to shake his hands in public restrooms.
The three-time Major winner is attempting to recapture the form that made one of the best golfers in the world, but maintains that he has complete confidence in his game to turn his career around.
Speaking to on RTE Radio's The Ray D'Arcy Show today, the 43 year-old admitted that he enjoys the attention from the public, aware that it will not last indefinitely.
"I don't mind the attention," the Dubliner native admitted. "I have no problem with it whatsoever."
"I always laugh at sports people who complain about it as the moment it's gone they want it back. As much as we love our sport we love the attention that comes with it."
Harrington however admitted that the attention sometimes can be uncomfortable.
"The weirdest thing is people wanting to shake my hand in a public restroom when you know they haven't washed their hands.
"I quietly move to wash my hands, but it is a bit weird," he added.
