'Nidge isn't dead, he's just an official at the Ireland game!' - Official with uncanny resemblance to Love/Hate character snapped at match

Fans of ‘Love/Hate’ need not worry – King Nidge is alive and well, he’s just opted for a career change.

A photo of an official with an uncanny resemblance to the fictional gangster at the Ireland – Scotland clash in Celtic Park is doing the rounds on the internet this evening.

“King Nidge isn’t dead... he’s doing 4th official at the Ireland game!” a Twitter account with the name ‘Positive Ireland’ shared during the second half.

The match might have been a scrappier affair than what most Ireland fans were expecting but at least ‘Love/Hate’ fans can relax in the knowledge that their favourite TV character didn’t in fact die in his garden hedge, but rather opted for a hiatus from the Dublin underworld.

The hit RTE crime drama ended in a chilling finale last week when bomb-maker Patrick finally managed to exact his revenge on gang leader Nidge.
