Ireland striker Jonathon Walters has brushed off vicious Twitter abuse after he posted a tweet hailing the re-election of David Cameron.
Walters let his political feelings known when he said: "Yes @David_Cameron. Glad the country has seen sense..."
But his thoughts provoked an avalanche of abuse from Twitter users who accused Walters of being a "sell out" and a traitor". One outraged punter even challenged Walters to a fight while he was also labelled a "rat".
But the Stoke frontman dismissed all that was thrown his way when he tweeted: "Haha so many keyboard warriors on here ...On the other hand you could of had that guy from Wallace and Gromit with Jimmy Krankie."
While most of the abuse towards Walters is too crude to publish, here are some of the tweets sent his way.
