Kind-hearted John Terry has given one of his match-worn jerseys to a fan who is mourning the passing of her mother.
The Chelsea defender has chalked up plenty of misdemeanours in the past, but he showed a touch of class when he responded to a fan called Louise on Instagram.
Terry wrote: “Good morning, I’m so very sorry to hear the terrible news of your mum passing.
“I would love to send you one of my match shirts and sign it to you.
“To know I and Chelsea can help you through this very difficult time would be an honour for me.
“You need to continue your mums legacy and be strong but never be afraid to cry and think of those fantastic memories.
“Over time it will get easier.
“Lots of love JT.
“I really hope you accept my shirt. X”
Louise received the signed jersey in the post and posted a picture of herself with the jersey, saying: “The true John Terry.”
Love him or loathe him, that's a brilliant gesture.
