'If Wenger has a shred of self-dignity left, he will resign tonight' – Piers Morgan calls for immediate Arsenal action
Television presenter and journalist Piers Morgan has taken to Twitter to yet again call for Arsene Wenger's resignation following an abject Champions League display tonight.
Former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov returned to haunt Arsenal as Monaco secured a 3-1 win in the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie at the Emirates Stadium.
The French side, whom Gunners boss Arsene Wenger guided to the Ligue 1 title in 1988, had been viewed as one of the weaker seeds for the knockout stages, but proved anything but as Arsenal failed to get out of first gear and were punished as Olivier Giroud had a night to forget, missing several good chances.
Outspoken Arsenal supporter Morgan is known for his strong viewpoints and tonight's performance was further proof he felt that a change of manager is required.
"If Wenger has a shred of self-dignity left, he will resign tonight. I'm sick of this garbage," he tweeted.
"Don't worry, Gooners, it's not WINNING the Champions League that matters, it's QUALIFYING. #afc #17YEARSOFFAILURE"
