The England international's life will be told in a film next year while an autobiography will be released in October.

Vardy's miraculous rise from non-league obscurity to Premier League-title winner is set to be made by Hollywood producer Adrian Butchart who worked on the 'Goal!' film franchise.

With talks around the production of the film ongoing, American actor Will Ferrell has thrown his hat into the ring for the main role of playing the 29-year-old.

Leicester City were introduced to the Anchorman actor as a part of their pre-season of tour of America and Ferrell admitted he would be interested in starring in a film detailing Vardy's fairytale success.

"I think I could [feature]. I would have to play him in his later, fatter years," said Ferrell in an interview with CNN.

"But I don't think I could play him in his football playing days."

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson is the bookies favourite to take the lead role in the Vardy biopic but little information on the film's production has been released as of yet.

Claudio Ranieri's side were visiting Ferrell at the Los Angeles FC academy: the youth branch of the MLS side Ferrell co-owns.

"It's a fantastic story and we're so fortunate that they're [Leicester City] are here training some of the academy kids we have.

"It's such a great story for sport and hopefully something LA FC can emulate."

Leicester City played Barcelona in Sweden on Tuesday night in their last pre-season fixture before Sunday's Community Shield game with Manchester United.

Ahmed Musa, Leicester City's club-record signing and Jamie Vardy's new strike partner, scored a brace in  4-2 defeat to the La Liga champions.
