Golf star Tiger Woods penned an emotional letter to a 12-year-old suicidal fan, telling her how proud he is of her.

The former world number one sent the letter to Dillon, who had attempted to take her own life after becoming the victim of bullying in schools, after Woods and his team read a story by Gold Digest’s Ron Sirak about the teenager.

“I know what it’s like to be different and to sometimes not fit in," he wrote. "I also stuttered as a child and I would talk to my dog and he would sit there and listen until he fell asleep. I also took a class for two years to help me, and I finally learned to stop.

"Be well and keep fighting. I’m certain you’ll be great at anything you do.”

LPGA golfer Sophie Gustafson, who has also dealt with a stutter during her career, is mentoring Dillon and thanked Tiger on Twitter for the kind gesture.
