Munster did the double over Leinster in this year's Guinness PRO12 and Donncha O'Callaghan ensured that the Reds held sway on social media as well by getting the better of Brian O'Driscoll in hilarious Twitter banter.

The former team mates are known for their good senses of humour but the bragging rights rest in the southern province this morning.

The Twitter head-to-head was sparked by a tweet from Clongowes Wood college in Kildare, known for helping nurture a number of Irish internationals, showing nine pupils who all appear to be reading O'Driscoll's autobiography 'My Test'.

Closer inspection reveals that the child in the middle of the image is reading Donncha O'Callaghan's autobiography.

The tweet came with the message: "Elements book club started again this term, unfortunately one lad didn't get the memo. @BrianODriscoll @docallaghan4."

O'Driscoll got a dig at O'Callaghan, tweeting: "@clongowes @docallaghan4 ah he must have only had 3.99 of his pocket money left!"

O'Callaghan took nine hours to respond but when it came, it was priceless.

"@clongowes @BrianODriscoll How did that honours student end up in the foundation English class ?!?!," he responded.

Game. Set. Match.
