Convicted killer claims he almost murdered Zlatan Ibrahimovic for parking illegally

It seems like not a week goes by without a story involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic, footballer and Internet icon.

This one, however, does not involve an outrageous bit of skill or an arrogant quote.

Swedish killer Peter Mangs was sentenced to life in prison in 2010 for two murders and eight attempted murders over a seven-year period. Not the greatest conversion rate but still high enough to mark him out as something of a monster. The attacks were racially motivated and apparently this meant Ibrahimovic was a potential target.

According to The Local, Mangs became annoyed by the footballer’s habit of parking illegally, something he described as “typically Balkan behaviour”. On one such occasion, the killer went to retrieve his gun but, by the time he returned to the spot, the Ferrari was gone. In his new book, Mangs writes:

"I thought there would be a proper hullabaloo in the media if the gent in question were to be shot."

Is this simply a ruse to sell more books? We’ll never know.
