An Irish Liverpool supporter has become something of an online hit with an expletive-ridden rant over why Liverpool’s proposed ticket price hike makes no sense.

Thousands joined a 77th-minute exodus - timed to relate to the £77 it will cost for the most expensive match ticket next season - during Saturday's 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland.

The fan, who claims to be from Dublin and travelled over for the Premier League encounter, joined the exodus that left the stadium in disgust at the price hike.

“It’s a working class city, they can’t be charging £77 a ticket,” he explained to The Redmen, an independent Liverpool FC show, outside the stadium following the walkout.

“Especially for the football that is being played at the minute.

“It’s f***ing ridiculous,” he added.

The fan outlined further reasons over the “crazy” decision which the club are believed to be reconsidering.

“£77 for that…to watch James Milner…are you mad?” he said.
