“Jack Grealish can play 45 minutes for Ireland and 45 for England in June”, says his father

Grealish’s stock has soared since his FA Cup semi-final man-of-the-match performance in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in Wembley last Sunday.

Grealish was last year’s Ireland U-21 Player of the Year and has been capped by the Boys In Green from U-15 up to U-21 level.

But England’s interest in prizing the young star back to the land of his birth has stepped up a notch since his dazzling Wembley display and with Martin O’Neill admitting the Scotland game in June will come too soon for Grealish, the Three Lions are on high alert.

Jack’s father Kevin has one solution.

“It’s going to be a difficult decision, it’s completely up to Jack as well. There is a friendly coming up in June, you never know he could play 45 minutes for Ireland and 45 minutes for England!,” said Kevin on TalkSPORT today.

“He started playing for Ireland when he was 14 and just went with the flow, everybody is talking a bit serious about it now and what is he going to do, over the past few months I have been asked the question loads of time.”

For now, Kevin says that Jack has to just keep reproducing the form he showed against Liverpool last Sunday when he had a hand in both goals and was a livewire throughout.

“He has had a good game, he has had a few good games recently so he needs to just keep doing that and his international stuff will come.

“I just told him to go out there and bust a gut for the Claret and Blue and he did. There wasn’t just one or two man of the matches that day, there was three or four and that’s how good Villa played.”
